Communication and political education
Migration, education, participation, and public communication are central areas of social debate – and they are deeply intertwined. Organizations, associations, and institutions today face the challenge of making complex discourses visible, acting with sensitivity to discrimination, and consistently considering migrant perspectives. ​

PartEl expert interview series. Federal Parents' Network. Ongoing.
Co-conception, implementation, editing, and design of expert interviews with experts from education, academia, and migrant organizations. The interviews combine expert knowledge and evidence-based recommendations for action. They are being conducted as part of the project "Strengthening the Participation of Third-Country Parents in Parents' Committees."

Co-conceptualization, academic development, editorial work, and design. This framework provides a critical analysis of the German education system and its migration policy context. It examines existing forms of parental participation and foregrounds the perspectives and lived experiences of parents with migration backgrounds, offering a foundation for more equitable and inclusive educational structures.

Conceptualization, editing, and design refinement. This handbook integrates an anti-racist analysis of prevailing power dynamics and exclusionary mechanisms within parent committees with concrete recommendations and field-tested approaches. It places the voices of parents with migration backgrounds at the center, emphasizing their often underrepresented perspectives in educational governance.
Performance. “Elternabend” (Parents’ Evening). Bundeselternnetzwerk, 2025. Link
Concept and curatorial direction of the spoken-word performance “Elternabend,” performed by artist Tanasgol Sabbagh(Parallelgesellschaft, Stoff aus Luft). The performance wove together documentary testimonies and poetic reflections on power, language, and education, creating an evocative and resonant space for parental experience and collective reflection.

GeDAB Workshop. "Anti-Discrimination in Social Media". DeZIM. 2025.
The workshop highlighted the importance of anti-racist communication on social media and the role of strategic alliances within civil society. Central questions concerned the effectiveness of digital counter-publics and solidaristic alliances. In the practical part, participants developed initial content ideas for anti-discrimination social media work on site.

PartEl Social Media Campaign. Federal Parents’ Network. 2024/2025.
The campaign strengthened the visibility of migrant parents’ perspectives in education policy. Through quotes, short interviews, and visual formats, experiences, demands, and expertise were made public. The aim was to name structural barriers and to promote anti-discrimination-oriented parental involvement nationwide.

Panel Discussion. Film screening, Favoriten. Yorck Cinema. 2024.
As part of the panel discussion on the film Favoriten at Yorck Cinema, the importance of societal recognition of multilingualism in upbringing and education was emphasized. In addition, the crucial role of migrant organizations in this context was highlighted.

Teaching Assignment, University of Potsdam. "Diseased and Disoriented". 2023.
The seminar explored the intersections of Orientalism—particularly Islamophobia—and psychological trauma. From neuropsychological and philosophical perspectives, participants engaged with questions of exclusion, embodiment, and mental health in postcolonial contexts.

Audio Walk. "Gardens of the World". Grenzgänge e.V. 2022.
Conducted interviews and analysis of the so-called "Oriental Garden" as well as general consultation regarding postcolonial contexts.

Intersectional-Feminist Literature Festival "q(lit*)clgn". 2018.
The work included the conception of content and panels as well as editorial tasks. In addition, there was content-related consulting on questions of representation and diversity. A special focus was on developing a communication strategy and designing social media content to ensure the festival’s public visibility.

Exhibition Tour. "Perverse Decolonization". Academy of the Arts of the World. 2018.
Guided visitors through the exhibition, which addressed the global contexts of decolonization, including the struggle over memory culture surrounding the NSU memorial in Cologne.

Journalist. Hoqook News Network. 2013.
Conceptualized, designed, and implemented an English-language website for the Egyptian news portal Hoqook News Network. The focus was on combining journalistic quality with appealing design and a clear international orientation of the content.
